flute and string quartet (2022)

An anagram of the instruments employed in this tune—flute and four strings—is “unsung drifters aloft.” In other words, clouds. Hence, the title. The third movement follows the second without pause, although there is a definite shift from a 4/4/ meter to one in 5/4. We anticipate a live recording of the piece in November 2023.
